Sustaining Work–Home Enrichment Experience in the Academic Sector: The Role of Intrinsic versus Extrinsic Motivations

This research investigated the impact of motivations on work–home enrichment experience among male Saudi academics working in universities. Drawing self-determination theory (SDT) and conservation resources (COR), study employed a quantitative with data collected from 460 men. The analysis revealed that intrinsic motivation extrinsic reinforced by material pressure were significantly positively related to both (WHE) home–work (HWE), whereas underpinned social is negatively HWE only. Furthermore, results show introjected motivation, identified amotivation not WHE HWE. findings this highlight motivational underpinnings positive interaction, demonstrating for pleasure incentives brings experiences employees their families. Further work home studies should be carried out produce useful insights have potential improve sustain well-being individuals, families, communities, organisations, countries’ economies.
